Not looking for anything YET, I just want opinions as to whether or not to proceed. My passion is country music and oldies. I sing all my songs right from my heart, but I need to know if I have what it takes. Need very honest feedback.

Thanks for taking the time to write to me Kirk. I'll keep in mind what you said, especially about pitch, and I'll try to sing this song differently. I sometimes have a hard time singing the really high notes loudly, so I soften them to make them easier. I'll have to work on that. You're right about my heart though. It definitely goes into every song I sing and I think that's a must for a good song. It's important to be able to project that feeling, so others can feel it too.
I'll work on what you said Kirk. Thank you so much for your feedback!

Hi Nora,
I enjoyed the song, it's got that soft melancholy feel to it that reminiscent of songs I would listen to as a kid. With that said, your vocals could use a bit of improvement. You've got a lot of heart in your voice, there's no doubt about that, but you need to soften the way you form word and pay a little bit more attention to pitch. Granted, these things can be (and usually are) corrected in the studio, but if you're looking to get your name out there, you'll have to give many impressive live performances.
I think those who really know and appreciate good, soulful music will hear the emotion you put into your songs, but those who don't might be overly critical of your vocal strength. Try singing the song at various levels of intensity (really soft, really low, really loud, really high). Even though you may already feel comfortable with how you sing certain parts of the song, you may find that singing them differently helps them flow more easily and sound better.
I hope this helps. Keep singing. We're all continually practicing and improving ourselves.
Kirk
